Regular Sword Care   no comments

Posted at 2:30 pm in Sword Care

This article is mainly geared towards swords that are said to be “functional” which mean they are made of carbon steel and not stainless steel.

It is very important to take great care of the swords you have in your collection to prevent them from rust and corrosion. Whether you have been doing some cutting exercises or your sword as simply been stored for the last six month, it is very important to clean the metal component of your sword.

Cleaning the swords can be done with a soft cloth and must be lightly oiled.

Note: The same result can be achieved with mineral oil, the difference is that it requires a more frequent application.

The second solution would be to apply a small layer of paste was from the tip of the sword to the pommel. The process is very simple. All you need to do is apply  the was using a soft brush, let it dry for a while and then buff it by hand with a very soft cloth. This simple process will allow your swords to be rust free for a couple of months. The good thing about this method is that is is very good no matter what climate you live in. TreWax is probably the best wax you can get to do the job, it provides a clear non-yellowing finish.

Lord of The Rings Swords - Improve your collection   no comments

Posted at 3:31 pm in LOTR Swords

For a long time i have been a Japanese swords collectors. It is only recently that i started taking interested into other kinds of swords.

I think the reason being that my Katana collection is starting to become quite complete. So being a movie fan a immediately started looking into fantasy swords to see what all the fuss was about. Very soon i started to develop some kind of interest for these types of swords and especially the Lord of the Rings Swords.

I mean let’s face it, these swords are unreal, just trying to fight with some of these swords would be an impossible act… Have you seen the size of Anduril??? My god it is huge!

But i must say, it looks amazing on my wall…lolll

I am clearly thinking about buying other swords from that movie. Who knows, this may be the start of a new collection :). For those of you who would like to know more about LOTR swords, know that the only swords worth buying are manufactured by United Cutlery. You can by them at multiple places, just make sure it is not some sort of cheap imitation.

I will try to upload some pictures of my Anduril sword soon so you can all take a look.

Talk to you soon.

P.S: Feel free to send me the picture of your swords so that i can upload them on the website, i would love to see your collections…
